Acorn is facing the consequences of its actions
A poverty-rights group that has drawn the ire of conservatives suffered another setback in Washington on Monday when the U.S. Senate voted overwhelmingly to deny it access to federal housing funds.
The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now,which helps poor people fight foreclosures and fix tax problems, has received more than $53 million in U.S. funds since 1994,but conservatives’charges of widespread fraud have begun to impact its reputation in the capital.
Last week, the U.S. Census Bureau told the group it did not want its help boosting participation in next year’s census.
The Senate measure, which passed 83 to 7 in the Democratic-led chamber, was included in a must-pass spending bill that funds housing and transportation programs for the fiscal year that starts October 1.
"This is an opportunity for the United States Senate to stand up and say ‘Enough is enough’just as the Census Bureau did,"said Republican Senator Mike Johanns, the measure’s sponsor.
There is a small glimmer of hope good over coming evil in this country.
Thank goodness the US Census Bureau rejected ACORN's participation in census work. I would not have returned my paperwork and I knew many others who would not participate. NOW….be on the lookout folks….they just open new "non-profit"entities and they roll the money from one to the other in the back office. They sure aren't spending any $$$ on employee training……are they? All of their many entities need to be investigated.
We cannot understand how (ACORN) this organization had been funded with so much of our tax dollars without any type of review or supervisionby congress. Isn't there any type of accountability of what they do with our tax dollars or was it a free for all. Is that why Stimulus dollars were to be appropriated to them. We trust it will not get any of the Obama Stimulus funds. Now how can our President consider having input into his agenda for America from these types Corrupted folks leading this organization. Corrupted idesas cannot be part of a US Presidential agenda.
I FREEDOM AND TRANSPARENCY…ACORN and all its entities MUST be investigated by Congress and by our President…Our President received his training in this organization as a community organizer. This organization needs to have all their offices investigated and all the results need to be transparent and be published publicly o we,the People of the United States of America really need to know what is going on behind these types of organizations which are funded with our Tax Dollars. Wouldn't our President know what goes on in this organization or he has absent mindness about it just like his 20 years attending Reverend Wright's sermons?
Something is not right! It all is not looking so good.
I really get annoyed when the Government Media portrays the Tea Party Menbers and people who are opposed ACORN as Conservatives.
I was a Democrat for years. I went to this years Democratic Caucus.
I think Obama is the biggest fraud ever perpetrated on the American citizenry.
There are people of EVERY political persuasion who think the White House/Chicago Mafia shoule be gone. NOW
The Obama speech to school kids on September 8,2009 was
to further Obamas’two goals:
1. A new pledge of allegiance:
I pledge allegiance to Obama,
Ruler of the United States of America,
and to his associates for whom he stands.
One nation,under Obama,
With liberty and justice for Democrats.
2. A new “high 5”greeting;with right hand raised chant:
Obama Rules!
To help your kids keep these goals ever before them
