After more than $10 Million in travel expenses,the IOC rejects the Obama’s desperate pleas on the first ballot
Despite four years,millions of dollars in planning and a last-ditch pitch from President Obama,the Chicago 2016 Olympic bid ultimately fell short.
The City of Chicago was eliminated in the first round of voting,before any host city was selected.
An expert called it the “biggest shock in IOC history.”
Supporters gathered in Chicago were equally shocked. Many streamed the rally in tears.
Tokyo was also eliminated in the first round.
Even the president’s star billing wasn’t enough to put Chicago over the top in what some experts said was the tightest race for the Games in its history.
What a shame…after all that "Sacrifice"

I hope that Brazil gets it. Their President was there also asking for that and they have never hosted an Olympic event. I have been down there 2 times and they are friendly and hospitable people. SO BRAZIL 2016! =)
Probably they will,Sorro got 2 billion tax dollars for drilling,while our economy is down the drain. I was literally praying that Chicago would NOT win and I'm soooooo happy they didn't. I'm from Illinois and know ALL about corruption in Chicago (Cook County) and trust me IF they'd have gotten the games they'd have found a way to extract the money from us living in Southern Illinois to fund it….. it's just how things are run 'up North'.
