Reid and Pelosi are attacking the Insurance Industry
A House committee has voted to strip the health insurance industry of its exemption from federal antitrust laws as senators announced plans to take the same step.
The moves Wednesday signaled a growing determination by Democrats to punish the insurance industry for its criticism of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul agenda. The House Judiciary Committee voted 20 to 9 to repeal a 1940s law that exempted the health insurance industry from federal controls over certain antitrust violations including price-fixing.
Lawmakers said they wanted to include the legislation in a larger health care overhaul bill taking shape in the House. In the Senate,Majority Leader Harry Reid announced plans to repeal the antitrust exemption as part of its health care legislation.
If enacted,the switch would mean greater federal regulation for an industry that recently has stepped up its criticism of portions of a health care bill moving toward the Senate floor.

Typical. But you know what? I assume the insurance industry knows the score going into this. Whatever "protections"the government provided weren't worth having the entire industry destroyed,so that's the bottom line. Reid and Pelosi are just showing their true colors as the mean-spirited Marxists they are. I hope that more of the Congress wakes up and grows a backbone and puts an end to the Regime.
I agree with you People need to wake up before these dictators obama pelosi and reid take over everything. The House and Senate seem to like it because they could do something but I think they are all just like these three there may be a few but most are .We need to replace them all in 2010 and the ones who are up in 2012 replace them all.
I can't believe these people.Fifty-six percent of American people(this percentage is growing every week) don't want government controlled healthcare but yet they continue to ram it down our throats.Now,they going to punish the insurance companies because they spoke out against healthcare plan.Can I say the word communism.We are slowly headed that way.I say don't wait until 2012 to get obama out,he must be impeached now.God Bless America!

did you know that there's only one other industry that's exempt from anti-trust laws? it's major league baseball.
so ask yourself:why did they get that protection,when other industries didn't?
could it possibly have had somrthing to do with massive campaign contributions &lobbying?
