The Congressional Budget Office has estimated the 10 year (2010-2019) cost of the House Democrats’bill at $1.055 trillion. As usual, there is so much budget gimmickry in these estimates as to make them virtually meaningless.
The Democrats are dishonest on so many levels about this healthcare “reform”it is almost impossible to untangle all their lies. Let’s start by clarifying some basic truths.
First, who pays for healthcare right now? That’s right, the taxpayers who foot the bill not only for their own healthcare, but for illegal immigrants, the poor and seniors as well. (Some seniors continue to pay a premium for Medicare but it still doesn’t cover all the costs).
Who is feeling the pain of the rapid annual growth in healthcare costs that the Democrats claim so desperately to want to fix? Right, these same taxpayers.
Some will argue that employers pick up most of the tab. That is true when employers offer healthcare policies to their employees, but it is an illusion. Businesses must make a profit to remain alive,so every cost they pick up is passed on to the consumer in higher prices. So,in reality,we pay.
When Congress representatives tried to have town hall meetings, plants were sent to these meetings who were trained to disrupt and shout down anyone else who wanted to speak. Now,that's really using the right to free speech, isn't it? The bill will not pass the Senate in its current form because too many Republicans and a few of the Democrats are bought by the insurance lobby. We,the American people are the ones who will suffer from that. I am so sick of the crap from insurance companies that I think they all ought to be shut down and I think Single Payer is the only thing that makes sense. Oh,that brings me to another big lie…socialism. The insurance companies and their puppets in the Congress and Senate want everyone to think that we are going to be a socialistic government if we pass this bill. Truth is,there are many countries that have what we in America have called socialized medicine and despite the fact that there have been some problems and continue with problems, the vast majority of people in those countries are happier with this than they were before. Even in Great Britain where the people pay handily in taxes for it,they prefer it even if there is a wait sometimes for some things. The wait is for chronic conditions not those that demand immediate attention. Here,we have waits and denials from the insurance companies that amount to the same thing and worse. Oh,and guess what! These aren't socialist or communist governments, either. Well, what do you know! Amazing, isn't it!
These Republican and Democrat clowns are also telling you that you won't be able to choose your doctor and make decisions regarding your care. That is another huge lie. They have done nothing but spin lies.
The original cost of the bill as is presented is huge, but these people same nothing about paying more than that for going to a war under false pretenses and killing Americans on top of that. These same people say nothing about diverting our military from the mission of finding Obama "dead or alive"–Bush's words in order to follow Bush's agenda and finish Daddy's war —which is all Bush was after any way. Well, now we all know why Daddy defined the mission as he did. His administration saw the impossibility of dealing with all the factions in the Middle East we have had thrust on us thanks to former President George W. Bush. Also, while you are talking about costs, you aren't talking about built in measures to combat costs and you aren't talking about what we are going to get back and what we can divert from other pork barrel spending to pay for something as important as this. Furthermore, you aren't talking about what we are paying in hospital costs right now as we who have insurance are paying to cover hospital losses when they are forced to deal with people who have no insurance that they have to treat and lose money on. Those costs are being passed to us and to the insurance companies. That's why you pay $6 for a Tylenol and have tests ordered from doctors that you don't need just so they can make enough money to pay for their overhead and malpractice insurance.
I would GLADLY pay all this Health Care money to get rid of all of these SCUMBAG MUSLIM EXTREMIST/TERRORISTS! Health Care won't mean $^#% if we're all DEAD at the hands of Taliban/Al Quaeda (I know,-2 spelling)/Terrorists! And who was that that MURDERED 13 &wounded 31 at Fort Hood??? An American MUSLIM army psychiatrist!!!!! SOMEONE PLEASE SEND US ANOTHER BUSH,SO WE CAN KICK MORE TERRORIST @$$!!!(Instead of laying down &kissing their @$$!!!!!,Like Obama!).
Why do you say paying for this bill is so important? Why should I have to pay for somebody else s health care? And why should I be punished because I have really good insurance that I earned? Sounds like you think like a typical bleeding heart liberal. You want equal results for everybody, even if some of us work really hard to get what we have. Sounds like a good example of pure laziness to me.
Debra you are a nut case that is exactly what you democrats are why do you just go and take obama with you and go back to kenya where you come from or go to Iran you are talking like a terriosts
I really don't know who you're talking with, but anyone who is employed in the health care system, anyone who's been a patient and reads their hospital bill and anyone who has health care coverage IS talking about waste, fraud, abuse (paying $6 for a Tylenol). We are all concerned about the rising costs of health care and I for one, refuse to go for ordered tests or procedures or run to the ER with the sniffles, because I am well aware of that pushing the cost of monthly premiums higher towards the sky. Don't speak in general terms like this unless you can back it up. I worked in Critical Care ICU for many years and we were constantly trying to think of ways to keep costs down, recycle paper good, and were vigilant when using our supplies. Once we had something in a room, even a cotton swab that we didn't use and had to throw it away,we made a point of taking less with us the next time.
Yes,unlike some Democrats,I think we do need some tort reform to stop frivolous law suits, but unlike the Republicans,I think we need to be able to have some ability to sue when there truly is malpractice. I personally would be willing to pay through taxes low premiums for this care. I see nothing wrong with government paying for the rest of it and I think it is their responsibility. You see,I think all people;even these liars are entitled to health care because it is a right, not a privilege. You have thousands of Americans who are losing their health insurance daily and their chances of dying prematurely and unnecessarily increase dramatically. Republicans and Republicrats don't give a rat's tail about these people. Well,I do and one more thing. I want the same health care that they get. Mitch McConnell goes to Walter Reed Hospital to deal with his heart problems which is government health care and he doesn't want to afford his citizens the same opportunity instead of coming to his home in Kentucky. His little puppet,Geoff Davis who is my representative goes along with whatever he says. Jim Bunning, the other senator in my state, doesn't care about us either. As long as they are taken care of,the devil with the rest of us! If you want to expose lies, let me tell you,you better look in your own back door and pull the plank out of your own eyes before you start pulling splinters out of anyone else's eyes!
Someone PLEASE tell me where in the constitution it says that it's the governments RESPONSIBILITY to provide health care!!!!!!!!!!!
41 US states have instituted tort reform.
That's really NOT a big issue any longer.
A recent anecdote:
Mi novia had DCIS 10 + years ago and during her routine exam in Feb '09,the mammogram and sonogram found a new "benign-appearing"4mm nodule in the opposite breast.
Core needle biopsy was read as Stage 2 invasive IDC.
After lumpectomy, all the tissue was re-read as benign (confirmed at UTSW and Harvard).
We consulted several litigators in Dallas (I used to be an expert witness for one),and eventually ended up settling for all our out of pocket expenses.
That said,I was virtually driven out of practice when my (part time) annual medical liability insurance premiums increased from $8,000. in 2001 to $18,000. in 2002 to $38,000. in 2003,despite never having been sued nor named.
I retired in 2003 at age 58.

Debra:I hope the cost of your confinement was covered by YOUR heathcare! Apparently,it wasn't enough and you are going to need a HUGE AMOUNT of such care in the coming yeaars. Please,Please, stay away from sharp objects!
Debra:I see you live in Kentucky. That's frightening because I live in a state nearby. You aren't planning on harming anyone, are you?
Everyone and especially Debra, when will you get it that this isn't about health care. This is all about the take over of a huge part of our economy. These people want control of every aspect of our lives. Can you spell SOCIALISM?
The actual truth—-Obama has no idea of what it will cost us,He just goes on telling lies. He is so far over his head,He really is not capable of the job of President!!!
Debra said..I personally would be willing to pay through taxes low premiums for this care. I see nothing wrong with government paying for the rest of it and I think it is their responsibility. Really Debra? Let me ask you this where does the money from the gov't come from? I hope you don't vote.
