Khalid Sheik Mohammed at Guantanamo Bay,Obama is bringing him to New York for a criminal trial
U.S. prosecutors plan criminal trials for five men accused of orchestrating the Sept. 11,2001,terror attacks,and military tribunals for five others held at the Guantanamo Bay prison.
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed,self-described mastermind of the attacks,and four others will be tried in New York federal court. Attorney General Eric Holder said Friday he expects to order prosecutors to seek the death penalty in the five cases.
Five other detainees held at the prison,including Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri,alleged to have planned the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole,will be tried in revamped military commissions,the Justice Department announced.
The prisoners won’t be transferred for weeks because of a law requiring at least 45 days notice to Congress before prisoner transfer from Guantanamo. Once brought to the U.S.,the detainees will be held at the federal prison in New York.
I propose that if U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder truly seeks justice,he will find an impartial trial venue far from American shores. Meanwhile,we,the American People,may consider how our jury system might play out in our favor in the court of public opinion.
For now,I'll leave the further diagnosis of malignant political correctness to Dr. Charles Krauthammer,a psychiatrist I can trust as long as he's permitted to practice medicine independent of governmental control.
Obama's tin ear is at work once again. It is more important to him that he establish credibility with Muslims than it is to assure National Security. He is opening the door for potential release of these terrorists on technicalities. He is going to allow the animals to take the stand and mock their victims families. He is undermining the military,and he is going to put thousands of American families through a decade long nightmare. Obama is insensitive to the feelings of Americans and all too sensitive to the feelings of Muslims in foreign countries.

Does anyone doubt that this trial will not be a target for some suicide bomber(s) intent on joining these scum in their so-called 'paradise',taking hundreds of innocent Americans with them? Please explain how they can make the trial venue secure enough to avoid such an occurrence?

As a combat Marine in Vietnam I would like to know if my son,while on the battlefield is to take any prisoners in the future????? If so,will these prisoners get a trial in the United States? If our military takes,50,000 prisoners in the next war,will these prisoners also get U.S. court cases? If so,will the bank robber down the street ever get to trial?

I agree thomas!! I've called and e-mailed my senators and representatives,who by the way have voted with us,and still all of Obama's proposals just keep on sliding through.
Everyone,and I mean everyone of us should contact Eric Holder,U,S. Attorney General and demand these terrorists have military trials and not on American soil. We should also contact Obama himself with the same demands.

Rather than trying to convict a few CIA patsies,why not put the real 9/11 culprits on trial. Bush,Cheney,Rumsfeld,Larry Silverstein,Wolfowitz,etc. Khalid Sheik Mohammed,after being tortured for years and his family being threatened repeatedly by our CIA,gave several phony confessions including being responsible for blowing up buildings that were blown up after he was already incarcerated. But I guess if you and your family were being tortured,eventually you would confess to anything too.
