Obama is bringing the Gitmo Boys to New York
The prosecution team I led in 1995 convicted the notorious Blind Sheikh and 11 others for conspiring to wage a terrorist war that included the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and attempting (unsuccessfully) to attack New York City landmarks. Consequently,some observers seem puzzled that I’m a vocal critic of civilian trials for our terrorist enemies. But they are confusing litigation success with national-security success. So is the Obama administration in deciding to transfer Khalid Shaikh Mohammed and four other 9/11 plotters to federal court in Manhattan.
We certainly can convict terrorists in civilian court. We’ve done it too many times for that to be a serious issue. It’s also indisputable that the U.S attorney’s office in Manhattan,where I was privileged to work for 18 years,is without peer in the expertise needed for such complex prosecutions. I have every confidence the Justice Department could convict KSM &Co.
The problem on this ride is not the destination;it’s the journey.
We are in a hot war,overwhelmingly authorized by Congress,against vicious enemies still plotting attacks that could dwarf the carnage of 9/11. To deal with war crimes,Congress in 2006 endorsed military commission trials,which have a rich pedigree in our history,are fully consistent with our Constitution,and better enable us to withhold intelligence methods and sources.
Indeed,the Obama administration concedes that military commissions are sound:Attorney General Eric Holder has announced that the bombers of the warship Cole will face one.
Don't forget all those Palestinian refugees "OOO"paid for their passage to America. This man is an enemy of this country. All his decisions from defense to our military and on and on are proof of this.
obama and holder are just as good gone they will be run out of Washington after this the American people are not going to take this lightly people who have never got involved will be invovled in this because the terriosts will go free and obama and holder will be hung right there in Washington
I strongly believe these terrorists should NOT be removed from Gitmo.
And they should NOT be tried in our court system with the same privileges
as American citizens. Its just another slap in the face from Obama.
He is very soft on Muslim's however. See how he is coddling the killer of
our troops at Fort Hood. Seems he never stops tromping on us and our traditions and values. I'm 80 and have never seen such a scary President.
Keep these terrorist off American soil for any reason.
Not only is it an abomination to bring them to New York but with all the economical problems presented to us,with people without jobs,without food,living in the streets –they want to spend millions of dollars to find them guilty….or not. It doesn't take brains to figure this all out….this is so stupid it's pathetic –unless like you said. Obama is a muslim,and a terrorist sympathizer! Fort Hood was an act of terrorist attack on our soil. Obama should be impeached now for failure to serve and protect!!

any politician that would allow their vote to be bought must be immediately removed from office. the will of the people cannot be for sale at any price. when are we the people going to wake up to the unaduterated corruption in dc and clean house? we the people will continue to get just what we deserve until we band together and remove this bunch from office. we must stop this insanity by whatever means required. if you are not willing to fight for what is right then you will live with corruption and destruction of the american way of life. let's get together and march on dc demanding that these people be removed from office,if they won't resign and leave then let's walk them out by force. wake up folks this is our country not theirs.
The decision to try the foreign terrorists in New York City was made not to benefit America or Americans,but one made by a failing president,who is desperate to .stop his free falling popularity. Its a rotten political move.
Holder and the president made this decision without using one ounce of common sense.
I believe they used what common sense they possess. Sadly,that doesn't amount to much. –I feel time/history will treat Obama and his administration with more negativism and derision than any other in the history of this nation.
What we are seeing is overwhelming evidence that the partisan political system is living up to the warning given by George Washington many,many years ago. Washington didn't trust this type of system then and we have much less reason to trust it today. This system lends itself to corruption and actions that serve individual politicians and the party,while causing great harm to many citizens and the nation overall.
Think,if you will,of the many evils that are created and condoned by this system. Then,think of the improvement that would come by merely disavowing this disastrous mistake and placing it on the garbage heap of history where it belongs.
George Washington also warned America to avoid entanglements with foreign countries. BO has set a record traveling to foreign countries to feather his new and campaign to be the Dictator of the New World Order.
