The Teleprompter says spend more money
President Barack Obama outlined new multibillion-dollar stimulus and jobs proposals Tuesday,saying the nation must continue to "spend our way out of this recession"until more Americans are back at work.
Without giving a price tag,Obama proposed a package of new spending for highway,bridge and other infrastructure projects,deeper tax breaks for small businesses and tax incentives to encourage people to make their homes more energy efficient.
"We avoided the depression many feared,"Obama said in a speech at the Brookings Institution,a Washington think tank. But,he added,"Our work is far from done."
For the third time in a week,Obama sought to focus on job creation,noting that the unemployment rate was still at 10 percent in November,though down slightly from its 10.2 percent peak. He said "a staggering"7 million Americans have lost jobs since the recession began two years ago.
While his proposal did not include the kind of direct federal public works jobs that were created in the 1930s,he said government could set the stage for more job creation by private businesses.
Doesn't our esteemed president understand that 'not working'isn't a vacation –it is 'no job'. If we don't work,there IS NO MONEY to spend. Our president has his feet planted in two worlds and his head in the clouds. Didn't he take Economics 101 in the ivy league hall of education? Obviously not. Get real and join us in the real world!

I am so glad I did not vote for Obama. I'm beginning to wonder which is going to end up being worse,him or Bush! I just hope 'we the people'make something positive happen in the 2010 elections. Only problem is we usually only have the option of trading one Rep or Dem for another Rep or Dem. I wish it were easier for Independents to get on the ballot.

Joe Wilson was just on Fox News and said 6 million dollars has been spent creating 3 jobs! I wrote him a small note a couple of weeks ago and demanded that an investigation be done on where all the money is going,my belief is it is being stolen and I told him that. This is not really new in the sense that it fits in with his march to transform America. He is not interested in jobs,prosperity etc,he is interested in spreading the wealth and you know where that will lead. Either the congress starts acting like an American congress or come 2010,hopefully the people will start taking this congress apart in the elections. (That's a risk the President is willing to take –are Pelosi,Reid et al?)
I have a job plan that no one seems to be listening to. If followed it could create millions of job openings for American Ctiizens. Here it is. Are you ready?
1. Use e-verify to determine if those already working in the USA are American Citizens. If not give them 30 days to furnish proof of there right to work,then at the end of 30 days terminate their employment.
2. Impose stiff penalties,including jail time for anyone who knowingly employs illegal aliens.
3. Abolish so called santuary cities.
4. Use stimulus money to quadruple the number of agents patrolling our borders. (this creates jobs)
5. Use stimulus money to build a giant fence along our borders (this also creates jobs)
Simply by enforcing existing immigration laws,millions of jobs currently occupied by illegal aliens will open up.
