Yes,those are the words of the president,last night at the Democratic National Committee fundraiser in Washington. After listing his administration’s accomplishments and vowing that "our most urgent task is job creation,"Obama pledged to keep fighting for a national health care system. "We knew this was hard,"Obama said. And then he described a letter he received from a campaign worker who suffered from breast cancer and has since died:
I got a letter —I got a note today from one of my staff —they forwarded it to me —from a woman in St. Louis who had been part of our campaign,very active,who had passed away from breast cancer. She didn’t have insurance. She couldn’t afford it,so she had put off having the kind of exams that she needed. And she had fought a tough battle for four years. All through the campaign she was fighting it,but finally she succumbed to it. And she insisted she’s going to be buried in an Obama t-shirt.
Many observers have noted that the president often seems extraordinarily self-referential. It’s all about him,they say. But even those critics might be a little taken aback by the "buried in an Obama t-shirt"remark. Is it really that much about him?
Others ask how some of Obama’s statements would have been covered had George W. Bush made them —for example,if Bush had pronounced "corpsman"as "corpse-man"(as Obama did twice at the National Prayer Breakfast). Had Bush mispronounced the word so badly —and he did say some weird things —it’s likely many commentators would have rushed to fit it into their Bush-is-stupid narrative. Now,it’s Obama who’s sounding strange. And even putting aside the "corpsman"gaffe,what does the president’s telling of the "buried in an Obama t-shirt"anecdote tell us about him? (By the way,this is not about the woman and her choice —people do all sorts of things,and we respect the decisions they make —but about the president’s choosing to tell the story himself.)

I am sorry that the woman died of breast cancer. However,had she gone to a womens'clinic for screening several years ago as we women do….they could have worked out a payment plan. NO ONE IS DENIED HEALTH CARE IN THE US. Yes,there are people that do not have health care INSURANCE….but let's call a spade a spade!
I have a son in law who has been out of work for over a year. No health insurance;in July of last year he was diagnosed with laryngeal cancer. In four and one half months he had surgery,radiation,speech therapy and dental work. He and his wife set up a payment plan with UT Southwestern and are paying the 'patient cash payment discount'…..so,without insurance he moved forward,was treated,is paying and will continue to have regular appointments that will be paid in cash. In a government run insurance program,he probably would still be waiting to see an oncologist.
Also,back to the woman….why didn't the campaign provide insurance? Why didn't some of the O supporters have a fund raising for her? This could have been the one time that O could do something he had experience with:community organizing.
Sorry,but this story is another 'me'story…..nothing more. He couldn't care less about Americans health care.

Ah,scuse me…no one has to go without health care. If you're too lazy to be pro-active concerning your own life when you get a CA diagnosis,then don't expect me to shed a tear for you. I too had a battle with Stage III cancer and after COBRA expired I've purchased a very affordable individual policy that still covers all of my important annual tests and doctor office visits. I don't have pharmacy coverage,but my husband and I have cut back on frivolous spending so we can pay for my life saving meds. If you check with the social worker at your oncologist's office you will find that there's all kinds of financial help available. But you have to OPEN YOUR MOUTH. I'm sick of the out and out lies of this president. He must think we're really stupid.
Also,I've never known anyone who visited an ER for treatment that didn't leave without a bill in their hand. If you don't pay your bill it will go into collections. If you still don't pay up,you're wages can be garnished. If you don't want that to happen you can set up affordable monthly payments. The only ones that get away without paying their hospital bill are ones that provide false information and fakes names. Give me a break. Enough of the lies Obama!!

I don't beleive that video because Obama never tells the truth. This video reminds me of the time he told the news media to put out the word about all these women who would like to take Michelle's place and how they thought he was such a hottie. No one believed that. Just like no one will beleive this video. First of all i know people who do not have insurance and they are never turned down by any Dr. or hospital when they need them. Look at the illigal alliens that use our Dr's and hospitals all the time with no insurance. Shame on Obama for not telling anyone in need that they didn't have to have insurance. Guess he doesn't care.

Obama is so self center. Here is a member of his staff without health insurance that he allowed to die of cancer but was excited she wanted to be buried in his t-shirt. Obama made over $10 million dollars last year. Surely he could have paid for her treatment instead of just letting her die. He could have easily afforded to pay to help her but instead uses her and everyone else for his own glory! What a disgrace.
