Obama is back on the campaign trail

The yearlong drama to overhaul health care is slated to reach a climactic vote this week on Capitol Hill, with Democratic leaders struggling to round up enough support to pass President Obama’s top domestic priority.

Obama will try to bolster public support for his sweeping overhaul plan Monday with what is expected to be a campaign-style speech in Strongsville,Ohio, outside Cleveland.

Obama repeatedly has called for a final vote in Congress in recent weeks while frequently hammering the health insurance industry. On Friday,he delayed an upcoming trip to Indonesia and Australia to help make a final pitch to wavering rank-and-file Democrats.

“I think people have come to the realization that this is the moment,”senior White House adviser David Axelrod said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“If we don’t act now, there’ll be dire consequences for people all over this country.”
