we won’t drill…. we’ll let Russia do it
The Obama administration is poised to ban offshore oil drilling on the outer continental shelf until 2012 or beyond. Meanwhile,Russia is making a bold strategic leap to begin drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico. While the United States attempts to shift gears to alternative fuels to battle the purported evils of carbon emissions,Russia will erect oil derricks off the Cuban coast.
Offshore oil production makes economic sense. It creates jobs and helps fulfill America’s vast energy needs. It contributes to the gross domestic product and does not increase the trade deficit. Higher oil supply helps keep a lid on rising prices,and greater American production gives the United States more influence over the global market.
Drilling is also wildly popular with the public. A Pew Research Center poll from February showed 63 percent support for offshore drilling for oil and natural gas. Americans understand the fundamental points:The oil is there,and we need it. If we don’t drill it out,we have to buy it from other countries. Last year,the U.S. government even helped Brazil underwrite offshore drilling in the Tupi oil field near Rio de Janeiro. The current price of oil makes drilling economically feasible,so why not let the private sector go ahead and get our oil?
This move confirms that "OOO"is an enemy of America and a friend of all our enemies. Every day this man in the oval office is doing jihad to our economy and everything he can get his hands on. He needs to be swiftly removed from office. He hates America with every move he makes.

I think Obamalamadingdong has more balls than brains. Where does he come off giving a billion dollars to Brazil to drill off-shore,and now Brazil is known as the "Saudi Arabia of S. America"? It is important for this country to utilize our oil &gas fields,oil shale,and clean coal technology to ease our dependence on foriegn oil.
I firmly believe that he is hell bent to wreck &bankrupt our economy,to cause the world to use the inter-national fund/currency rather than the US dollar. He has lived in so many third world countries as a child,Im assuming he's homesick for one of them. I think we should ease his homesickness &send him back to the 3rd world country of his choice. We voted against drilling for oil and now they say,"February showed 63 percent support for offshore drilling for oil and natural gas."That's an outright paid for lie. We as a majority don't want more oil or nuclear power. Get it? or GMO's or fake money. The government is broke and let the Fed just print money that we have to make good on. That has got to stop and stop stopping the electric car from being our car of choice.

I guess you are too young to remember Michele that WE did vote to stop drilling. And I'm too old to remember the year,maybe it was 1975 or so,I was living in Sacramento. It's only been a year or so that the push for us to drill at home was started,that's all that you remember. WE are not the one's that started this push.
You get your facts straight. If home drilling were put on the ballot today it would fail. The car companies were government bought to continue gas cars,WE were getting close to getting an electric car when this buyout happened. (not that we didn't already have a great electric car,but it was recalled and destroyed)

I don't need your last dollar Michele. If we need jobs how about starting with our infrastructure which is already very old. That would keep a lot of people working but it's not going to happen with Obama.
Well Don,seems we are on the same page. You are right infrastructure was supposed to be in the first Stimulus Bill,but so far I haven't seen where any money has gone for that cause. The truth is Obama isn't going to fix our roads,bridges etc.. with any of that money. I believe it will be used as a slush fund for the Dem's re-elections. As a matter of fact Obama isn't going to build,drill or fix anything to help this country,he plans on tearing it down one take over at a time.

Has everyone forgotten the promise Obama gave to the Saudi prince soon after he started his apology tour. Obama promised the Saudis that the USA would always buy their oil. So if he allowed drilling then he would break his promise to the Prince. He may break promises to the American people but he would never break a promise to the Muslims.
