Obama and Media Hyperventilate Over Immigration Law

By Floyd and Mary Beth Brown, Expose Obama

Obama, the media, liberal elites — and even some Republicans — have rushed to decry Arizona’s immigration enforcement law with shocking hyperbole. This bill is constitutional and it addresses a pressing issue at the state level because the federal government has shirked responsibility for years. While the critics would have you believe enforcing America’s immigration law is the second coming of fascism, the Arizona law properly emphasizes enforcement in a manner that upholds the Constitution and basic principles of human decency.

Nevertheless, Eugene Robinson, the Washington Post columnist, denounced the law by saying, “Arizona’s draconian new immigration law is an abomination — racist, arbitrary, oppressive, mean-spirited, unjust.” The infamous race baiter Rev. Al Sharpton is promising to come to Arizona to march in opposition to the law. President Obama decried the law as “misguided” and “poorly conceived.” Obama even falsely claimed that a Hispanic family eating ice cream could be forced to provide their papers just because they had dark skin. CBS News used fascist references to attack the law.

These critics completely miss the mark. If these critics had read the law, they would know that it primarily focuses on enforcing existing federal law at the state level. The section that has been misconstrued the most reads, “For any lawful contact made by a law enforcement official or agency of this state or a county, city, town or other political subdivision of this state where reasonable suspicion exists that the person is an alien who is unlawfully present in the United States, a reasonable attempt shall be made, when practicable, to determine the immigration status of the person.” While some like Obama interpret this provision as allowing police officers to round up Hispanic individuals and ask for their papers, it is anything but. The initial contact must be lawful. And the law was carefully written to preclude racial discrimination. Section 2 provides that a law enforcement official “may not solely consider race, color, or national origin” in making any stops or determining an alien’s immigration status.

In order to clarify the non-discriminatory nature of the statute, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer issued an executive order requiring training to “provide clear guidance to law enforcement officials regarding what constitutes reasonable suspicion, and shall make clear that an individual’s race, color or national origin alone cannot be ground for reasonable suspicion to believe any law has been violated.”

Arizona Police Association board member Ken Crane said the new law prohibits officers from targeting people based on race, national origin and other identifying factors. Every rookie officer is trained extensively at the police academy on how to judge probable cause and reasonable suspicion. Crane said whatever training is developed should reinforce long-standing police standards. “It’s basic police work that’s never changed,” he said. “We’re not reinventing the wheel here.” Not only does the law prohibit discrimination, the governor is going out of her way to institute new training for officers so they can enforce it properly.

One of the most absurd reactions to the law was from the government of Mexico, which issued a travel warning regarding Arizona. “There is an adverse political environment for migrant communities and all Mexican visitors,” Mexico’s ministry said. This is quite ironic given that the Mexican government has much more stringent immigration standards than the U.S. and they will bar foreigners if they upset “the equilibrium of the national demographics.”

These hyperbolic critics ignore what is happening in Arizona. Currently, more than 500,000 illegal aliens live in Arizona. Arizona rancher Rob Krentz was recently gunned down on his own land, presumably by a drug runner. President Obama ignored the calls of Sen. John McCain and other Arizona lawmakers to dispatch the National Guard. Our borders are wide open and criminals are flooding through while the U.S. government continues to dither and turn a blind eye. It is no surprise that the new law has a 70 percent approval rating amongst Arizonans according to Rasmussen, and Gov. Brewster saw her popularity rise by 15 percent after the bill was signed into law.

Americans want our immigration laws to be enforced. We want to live in an open and free society without fear of our government or fear of criminals. This law strikes an important balance between defending precious personal liberties and enforcing our immigration law. The law’s critics should be honest and admit that they currently ignore enforcing immigration law because they want to change it. They support a demographic realignment of the USA through immigration that most Americans oppose.

"I believe that the RNC and DNC at the highest levels in 2008 were both complicit in shutting down all discussion of Obama's constitutional eligibility issue in the Congress, Main Stream Media, Print Press, and in the leading conservative Talk Show radio stations. I believe that the RNC and the DNC were complicit in subverting Article II, Section I, Clause 5 of our Constitution as to the eligibility requirements for the Office of the President, i.e., the person eligible for that office must be a "natural born Citizen", i.e., one born in the country to parents who are both citizens of the country such that the child born has singular and sole allegiance at birth to the USA and no citizenship at birth with any other country via his parents or due to the place or location of birth."

Keeping ALL his HI vital records sealed is Obama's choice. The HI government is not working against Obama, rather it is protecting him.

  • This got so hot so fast, Obama ran screaming from the kitchen with his apron flapping wildly in the breeze. We shouldn't allow a change in the verbal dispute, we should contact our own governors with the same demand. I just sent a free fax to Gov. Perdue via NUMBERS USA.. We can now watch as illegals avoid Arizona and go deluge other states. I have NEVER seen a president pick sides, undermine so openly law, or demagogue issues like this one does.

  • Ben

I would love to visit Arizona after the law goes into effect and have a police officer ask me those racist question. i will sue the police n the state of Arizona for Discrimination and Racist. They are violation the Constitution of the United States

    • John

Ben, please quote the exact statement on the AZ law that discriminates and is racist, and quote the part of the Constitution that is being "violated" .
I need precise proof please. Thanks in advance

    • christy

I just came home from shopping and had to show m ID 3 times. Ben is just showing his ignorance and inability to read the bill.

    • Amber

What questions exactly do you think would be racists? Why don't you and the rest of the illegal INVADERS spend this energy within your own country? Why don't you stand up and fight against Mexico's filthy corrupt government? No. Instead you come into America with a "how dare you self entitlement attitute" and suck off what Americans have worked and fought so hard for. Grow some b@##s and fight for your own country. America owes you nothing!

    • Roni

Ben, you claim the Az. law to be a violation of the Constitution yet every day the man who occupies the Oval Office violates the Constitution. You are a prime example of a lazy American who relishes the idea of suing to enhance your income. The Az. law prohibits profiling and unless you are breaking a law you will not be stopped. Stop splitting hairs and step over on the side of the real Americans. My suggestion is you drive safely and follow the laws of the land while visiting Az.

    • nellie

Ben….read – I repeat – READ the Consitution of the United States before blogging such uneducated remarks. The problem with people like you is you are ignorant and misguided. READ…for the love of heaven…read your history – study the foundation of our country. Shame on you.

I lived in Europe for six years as a "foreigner". There were many times that I was asked for my passport. It didn't bother me…..I realized it was for my protection. When I moved in to a town, I had to go to the state office and have my address written in the passport and have the state office put their stamp beside it. When I moved from a town, I had to go back to the state office and have the new address written in the passport. I abided by "their" laws and did not find it offensive. What is wrong with you people who want to call this "racist"? We should have been enforcing our citizenship laws instead of looking the other way and protecting these illegal aliens who are breaking our state banks.

  • john

    Good luck with that

  • Michele

Stop being so ignorant Ben, if you are walking down the street you must have ID on you, it doesn't matter what color you are. Maybe you should check your own State law to see what it is. What racist questions Ben?

  • Michele

I did too Shotpusher. It's about time the tax payers in ths country started standing up for our rights!!

  • come on OBAMA show your paers now..afraid to show it now,,and he is screwed and doesn't know what to do at this point..

  • Anyone who thinks that enforcing existing Federal immigration laws at the state level is inconstitutional is an obvious idiot. What don't you understand about the word "illegal" as in illegal immigrant.

  • John

Why is it if a white person does or says anything to a person of a different nationality we're racist, but it's OK when it's the other way around.
It does not matter who is legally or morally right
I have no problem with legal citizenship no matter how it comes about but your here illegally I say ship them home and I really don't care how it gets done.

    • KBB

It's caused by white guilt. The same white guilt that helped to elect an illegal alien for our president – in spite of all the red (no pun intended) flags warning us about him and his communist/Marxist ideology. The same white guilt that BO's handlers (after years of grooming him) knew they could count on to allow BO to "fundamentally transform America" into a socialist nation, effectively breaking the back of America and cutting "arrogant and rich and imperialist" America off at the knees. The same white guilt that BO's handlers knew would prevent us from stopping his treasonous agenda for fear of being called "racist". And it's worked beautifully!! We must get rid of white guilt and stand up for ourselves and America, and let the name-callers be damned!!!

  • thomas

Ben, both you and obama don't get it! This is a federal law on the books for years, but Washington has done nothing about it for years.
I do hope you get stopped in Arizona, because you would have broken the law an in jail you go!!

  • Sorry, in my absolute frustration of idiots, I spelled "unconstitutional" wrong. And John, good comment. I agree.

  • Jim

Ill bet Ben the Leftist would go Hire a Lawyer Immenidtely!! Every State needs to copy the Arizona law.

  • Michele

Amen John, it is happening because we white's have allowed it for years. It is time to stand up for our rights!!!

  • allen

Someone needs to tell BO that he needs to rob the ice cream store first to get harassed.

  • Gene

Dwight Eisenhower sent 3 million of them home way back when he was president when it wasn't as easy as it would be now. Truly, I am for immigration as well. My anscetry were from all over the place. It is the mix of people, ideas, cultures, intelligence, and American fundamental ideals that made this country great. Probably none of them were "illegal" then. Today though the "illelgas" are the ones who are doing illegal things in this country and destroying our young peoples sense of values considering that any of them still have any left.

  • allen

I have to have an ID just to post here. None needed at the border as far as BO is concerned.

  • Please have Mr O go to Arizona and do something, anything, suspicious.
So we can see his proof of Citizenship

  • yarbrob1

Why not, he's already robbed the American People through Healthcare reform. Next is Cap and Trade and we all know that Immigration Reform is nothing more than adding votes for the democrats. This guy is bad for America

  • Yes, arrest him
    For malfeasance of Office.
(code talk for NOT doing his job)

  • I have sent emails to the governors of Nevada, Texas and Utah asking them to please pass anti-illegal immigration laws like Arizona did and that Arizona could use a little backing from the other states. So far, I have received a reply from Nevada. My next emails will go to the governors of Montana, Idaho and Wyoming. Please email some of the states so we have more leverage in our fight against illegal immigration.
    Thank you.

  • spool

He ran from the limousine where Larry sinclair still reposes and or Reggie Duke..He is an illegal alien himself…Barry on the down low..

  • Tom Bowen

Have you all gotten enough of this administration yet? All true Patriots must hold the Arizona govenor is high esteem for enforcing the Constitution, all states should follow suit. The only ones who are upset about this are the ones who are here illegally, gee whiz what a suprise that is. When you folks finally get fed up with this illegitimate administration and decide it is time for positive action to remove these people from office call me, until then shut the heck up and quit your complaining.

  • spool

What an Ijut..If you have not committed a crime like the illegals or the majority of Barry's chosen race why would you give a damn…

  • Once again Tom I am asking you what are you or what have you done to fix this problem? So please you shut up and try posting something new once in a while!

  • grayfox

What part of "illegal" do you not understand Shotpusher??? The Feds should be engorcing our USA laws, but they are not. The Feds have not closed the Mexican border either. if you are illega, to jail you go. Come on out to Arizona in September and give it a try!!!

  • spool

You meant to say the guilted whites that have been guilted for the last 100 hundred and 55 years by all the do gooders…

  • Bay0Wulf

Ray … you've missed the BIGGEST offender there … California … send emails to Arnie and see if he can't find it in his heart to do something like this. I mean, didn't California go broke just a couple months ago? Wouldn't this alleviate a significant part of their problem? Here is the address to contact "E-Mail the Governor": http://www.gov.ca.gov/interact#email (Select the 2nd tab on this page for the E-Mail.

  • Shot Pusher: Love your analogy. This guy is a Chicago gangster type. His walk alone will tell us that. His response to Arizona is very telling as to who he is and what he is. This man is an enemy of America's Republic, that is obvious.

    IMPEACH OBAMA IN 2010 http://www.impeachobamacampaign.com/

  • spool

Maybe he should look in the mirror and see what color individual looks back at him…Let us guess…

  • Hey BayOWulf!
I know about California, believe me. Unfortunately, that's where I live and I know they are the biggest offender. I also think it's hopeless to email Arnold and his regime. I did email the Attorney General, Jerry Moonbeam Brown and asked him when he was going to sue the Federal Government over the new healthcare law. Of course, I never heard from that jerk.

  • spool

His walk, talk, moves, mannerisms and complete demeanor make him appear to be a South Side Down Low Buggering Black Fruit of which there are many…Ask about Larry Sinclair, Rev. Wright, His dead choirmaster, Reggie Duke and all the fruits of both genders he has surounded himself with…He is a fruit…

  • That's telling it like it is. NO PC that's for sure. Where did this man come from??? MARS or some other planet?

  • Bob P.

Could it be that Obama is pissed at Arizona for the bill that might require presidential candidates to prove their citizenship in order to be on the state ballot for elections starting in 2012 and is taking out his anger on the state because of it? I think so!
If Obama was smart (and he has proven that he is not), he would leave Arizona alone. He doesn't want to elevate the discussion of "papers" any more, lest we find out he is not eligible to be president.
America is not going to let your birth certificate issue just die, Barry!

  • pch

Don't you all know that our president has an illegal aunt living in Cleveland in section 8 housing getting welfare and food stamps. I have e-mailed our pres. on the subject of illegals. What an example and message to our and his children. Hey it's okay if you break the laws of the US we'll give your every entitlement and a road to citizenship, which by the way they do not want. they send their money to Mexico as they will be going back. I know someone who came here under Reagan amnesty still here, still not a citizen. You go AZ and I hope others will follow.

  • Dave

This AZ law needs to get infectious and spread to other states in the US. If you are an "illegal" in this country, you are already breakin the law. I am proud that the governor of AZ had the b@ll$ to sign this bill.

  • Richard

Come on. This law is so blatantly directed at a specific group of people- hispanics- that there is no way it will hold under constitutional scrutiny. Do you really think that an illegal from Canada would be suspected just on sight? Or a black person? No way. Watch out if you're from East LA and get stopped. Bad law, bad judgement.

    • KBB

According to the new AZ law (which mirrors the Fed law), it's unlawful to suspect one is illegal "just on sight" – e.g., just from the skin color. The AZ law will ferret out illegals who have been stopped for suspicion of violating a law or for actual violation of a law not related to immigration.

  • pch

You had better wake up before it is too late. I don't care where they come from if they are illegal they need to be deported.

  • spool

In whose black anys have you had your head hidden..You almost sound like the black fruit in the Black house…No fight in you…We need to have cohones and go out their, outwit the bastards and rip their lips off…Now go crawl back into the darkness where you fell comfortable…No fight in you…

  • Michele

    You got that right!

  • Michele

    me too Dave!

  • John

good post Dave, but I believe you should have said that "the gov of AZ had the ov@rie$ to sign this bill"

  • pch

You need to read the law and stop watching CNN,CBS,ABC Check it out on line and what is wrong with profiling? We should have done so the day after 9-11. If you have nothing to hide what's the big deal. You should also check out Mexico and other countires immigration laws. Especially Mexico's talk about profiling. Wake up before the USA is destroyed.

  • John

It's about time someone did something to save our country. This has nothing to do with race it's about all of the illegal and the crime they bring into our country. Read the law and then make a decision instead of listening to real race haters in the media and so called leaders who use the race card to help their agenda which is to destroy our country. If our country is so bad then why are so many people from other countries want to come here? Wake up and smell the roses.

  • MBee

What a joke Obama is! He actually thinks allowing people, no matter WHO they may be, pour over our boders and murder, rape, molest, steal…you name it…ANY and ALL the crimes you can magine…He actually wants people to believe that enforcing the laws on our books already…the ones HE is SUPPOSED to be enforcing…is worse than stopping what is happening to our own U.S. citizens. His first & most important duty as a president (and that's debatable) is to PROTECT U.S. CITIZENS. He's just pissed, because if he takes his kids and the dog to Arizona for ice cream & gets stopped, the only one that has papers is the dog.

  • MBee

Well, you know….the people who come over the borders from MEXICO are mostly, 99.9% HISPANIC . .Profiling is a tool & ANY law on our books can POSSIBLY be abused. Just because a Hispanic who is here legally, gets pulled over for something & is asked to show proof of citizenship gets in a huff & cries RACIST, we're supposed to just let this invasion continue unchecked? Are you serious? How do you think it should be controlled? An AZ police officer was shot by suspected illegal drug dealers today in the ara of a "WELL KNOWN" drug corridor . If it is a "well Known" drug coridor…WHY is Obama NOT performing hsi first & most important duty & taking steps to make sure it immedately becomes an "EX WELL KNOWN" drug corridor?.__Don't you think that deputy MIGHT have a right to get a little huffy? What is your solution? If 99.9% of a people entering our country from the country where that same people are indigenous, that's just tough luck. How 'bout the Mexican president doing something with that hell hole country to give his people a reason to stay there!

  • Donald Van Hoozier

Thank God for a very wise and bold govenor.

  • Amber

Exactly where in the US Constitution supports your argument? Which article, paragraph, or amendment? Do you even know? Or do you simply follow what you hear without doing any study of the US Constitution or state laws?
How exactly is it a bad law and or bad judgement to enforce a state and FEDERAL law? Please share all of your wisdom as I feel you don't know you're butt from a hole in the ground.

  • Amber

Bob- You are exactly right on! Just yesterday BO the usurper, announced, "because I have worked Congress very hard this year with HC reform; I don't think they can take on Immigration reform right now."

    Really? haha.
BO knows he's in grave danger of exposure

  • Bill

Richard, I wonder if you feel that way if 99 percent of the illegals were canadian. It just so happens that across the border is, wow what do you know Mexico, and most Mexicans come from Mexico right, so if people crossing the border illegally from mexico are mexican, and you have a half mil or so of them in your state, the folks responsible for maintaining services for the legal residents at some point have to respond. I'm pretty sure that we did not orchestrate a mass influx of illegal mexican immigrants just because we needed someone to pick on.

  • Steve Dolyniuk

They made one mistake when they passed the law. They should allow profiling. When the vast majority of Illegals are MEXICAN, then the majority of Mexicans should be asked to show their citizenship. Percentage wise they are involved in more crime then any other group of people.

  • skeptical

    The President's birth?
In the event he was a legal candidate, consider this.
Where the birth certificate asks"of what race is the newborn" . PERHAPS THE PARENTS NOTED , "HE IS OF MIXED BREED OR MULOTTO". THAT BEING THE CASE ,did he LIE to the public about being BLACK?
Would this be reason enough to conceal his papers?
Just a thought ,along with immigration problems.

    • KBB

No, I don't think that would be reason enough to conceal his papers. Even if his bc indicated his mother was not married at the time of his birth, that wouldn't be enough to conceal his papers – vis a vis being POTUS. This day and age, no one would care if he was born to an unmarried woman. No, the ONLY possible revelation on his bc that would disqualify him from occupying the WH is if it shows he is not a natural born citizen. No matter who his daddy is, no matter what his racial mix is, hell, no matter what his birth weight was! — the only thing his bc might show that would matter is his citizenship status. That's why his concealment of his bc virtually answers the question: Is BO a natural born citizen and therefore legally entitled to be POTUS? No.

  • Sunshinmim

…typical marxist re-action…..twist the truth around and make victims the villan…….OBama is bogus anyway……..all he wants is votes for 2012, so he's compromising innocent Americans into bad guys……so the illegal will vote for him…..end of story……..

  • Ben

I won't hire a lawyer in every state but the constitution protects us all. And I was a Victim of Idenity theft. I say send the Illegal Immigrants back but don't brake the constitution law

  • Ben

Also you need to understand that this country was found by Immigrants not White race only… Columbus was from spain n he is spanish

    • KBB

Ben, you are correct, America was founded by immigrants, and Columbus came from Spain. But there's a big difference in the immigrants of the 19th and 20th centuries and the illegal immigrants of today who enter the U.S. by sneaking across the border. Many illegal immigrants have no intention of embracing America as their homeland. The immigrants who came into Ellis Island wanted to embrace America as their new home in every way – culture, language, etc. Many even changed their names to sound more American. (continued below)

    • Vietvet

      Sorry Ben. Columbus was Italian.

  • Yedda: RE: Assessing the President…

richard answered: re:Tell us how you think President Barack Obama has handled the economic crisis so far. What’s he done right? And what’s he gotten wrong?…

  • Roni

The law will never pass in NC…the end of Bev Perdue's nose smells like Obama's behind. Last year NC tax payers spent 80 million dollars to support the illegal criminals. Our once beautiful roadways are now filled with garbage exactly as Mexico. Signs are posted in Mexican in front of their businesses. Seems every other person you meet is speaking Mexican, yet Miss Bev will not budge. She will simply raise our taxes to help assist the poor criminals. I applaud the Az. Governor. The Mexican's claim they have come to "take back their Country." Obama's amnesty law will give them the opportunity to take over our country. Second thought; will Obama ever show is REAL birth certification? In my opinion he is as illegal as those who cross the border in Mexico.

  • KBB

Yes, most kept their core identity by settling into ethnic neighborhoods – but that was mostly for economic and emotional support for groups of people who left their homeland and often their extended families behind. Even as they retained their core culture, they put their new American persona in front of it. They brought their skills and their sweat and tears to America, determined to be Americans and help build the growing country. In contrast, many illegal immigrants today migrate to America to either get on the welfare rolls or to work and send money "home" to their immediate or extended families across the border. They have no interest in learning the language or in helping to build America. They insist on retaining the culture and identity of their homeland, and use America and Americans to further their interests back home. This kind of immigrant does not help America thrive, but instead helps to bring America down.

    • Vietvet

If you really want to do something about illegal immigration, support efforts against companies like Walmart and Tyson-Purdue who knowingly hire illegals at below-minimum wage salaries. I am not talking about immigrants who fake Am. citizenship to get hired–Walmart and Tyson-Purdue have been proven to actively and deliberately recruit undocumented workers in order to attact cheap labor from south of the border.

    • Vietvet

Actually very few of the first generation immigrants who came in the 19th-early 20th century learned English. Acculturation to American customs and language usually was delayed until the second generation–kids who wanted to blend in. Also, Italians and Eastern Europeans sent huge amts of their Am. earnings back home to Europe.

    • Vietvet

Most 19th and early-20th cen. immigrants had none of the "skills" that KBB talks about. They were mostly unskilled farmers–a perfect labor supply to be plugged into the growing US mechanized, industrial economy. And finally, many of them intended to come here only to earn enough money to return home and better their social position. About 25% of all 19th cen. immigrants to the US DID return to their country of origin. So your idealized vision, KBB, of immigrants taking on an "American persona" the moment they arrived at Ellis Island is a lot of mythic hooey.
