If Elena Kagan is confirmed as Supreme Court Justice, she would be the only justice with no prior experience as a judge.
Consequently,Obama must not believe experience is an important consideration in selecting a Supreme Court Justice, right?
In the past, however,Obama spoke a different tune when he opposed Justices nominated by Bush. Watch the Videos below.
On Harriet Mier’s Nomination:
"In the absence of any judicial record on her part,in the absence of any significant work she appears to have done related to Constitutional issues. She is going to need to be more forthcoming, and the White House is going to need to be more forthcoming…Ms. Mier is completely a blank slate."
During the Election, Obama was asked which current Justice he would not have selected. Obama chooses Clarence Thomas, and goes on to say he "wasn’t exper…(uh)…a strong enough jurist or legal thinker"
Obama’s flip-flopping and hypocrisy for political gain should not be allowed to stand. Obama must be made to say why he used to believe experience was valuable, but now has dropped that completely in order to nominate Kagan.
