Taxpayer Victory Over ACORN

Judicial Watch

In a story that not surprisingly got buried by the mainstream media,an appeals court has ruled that Congress can withhold federal funds from a crime-infested community organization famous for voter registration fraud and embezzlement.

The crucial decision, recently issued by the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan, allows federal lawmakers to stop giving the notoriously corrupt leftist group (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now or ACORN) taxpayer money to fuel its criminal enterprise. ACORN,which has received tens of millions of taxpayer dollars over the years, sued the U.S. government in November after Congress slashed its public funding amid mounting corruption scandals.

In its lawsuit ACORN claimed that banning it from receiving federal aid violates a provision of the U.S. Constitution (known as the Bill of Attainder) because it unfairly singles the group out for punishment. Furthermore,ACORN’s complaint said,a congressional resolution cutting its funding constitutes legislation that illegally targets one group. Earlier this year a district court judge in Brooklyn sided with ACORN,ruling that Congress had indeed violated the group’s rights by punishing it without a trial.

In reversing that decision, the appellate court said….

Don't forget that "community organizer"is a semantic euphemism coined by Saul Alinsky to obscure the term "communist instigator". They are one and the same.

I suspect this is not the last of this issue. I suspect ACORN will keep on keeping on since its a large amount of money they want. I say,if congress gives, then they have the right to take away. They've done it to average Americans for 235 years so why is it different now?
It is true the 'old establishment mainstream media'has buried this story &almost any story about ACORN. They are now a throughly discredited organization whose antics represent what many feel are criminal activities. Finally,a court has sided with the people &not w/ suspiciously influential special interests. Its about time.
But,we must also keep pushing Attorneys General across the nation to continue their investigations into ACORN,its activities,&its funding, including how it has used its funding. The real &whole story on ACORN is yet to be revealed. That is what we must demand, even if it goes against the grain of an administration that supports &even participates in its activities.
The ACORN investigations may turn out to be only the beginnings of investigations of this administration &perhaps even members of congress who have flouted our laws &acted against the best interests of the American people!

The ACORN case is a total travesty of justice, perpetuated by the right wing who are obsessed with finding (or rather, making up) fault with any person or organization they can associate with the President they hate so much. It's much like Whitewater, which never amounted to a hill of beans. And Judicial Watch is hardly a source for objective information, given it's own sleazy record. It is notable that they mention the so-called "prostitute scandal"which has since been proven to be another phony Andrew Breitbart affair.

If ACORN has faulty management as determined by the appeals court, that is one thing. But no one has provided proof in court of the kind of corruption charges that have been thrown around by FOX News and others with an anti-Obama agenda.

A man who has nothing to hide, hides nothing.
It is very unfitting for a president to play fast and loose with something as important as this. He has absolutely no respect for the will of the people or he would have presented the Birth Certificate long ago. His playing childish "cat and mouse"games with all of us shows not only no respect, but no guts to set the whole thing to rest. If he is this childish, who needs a president like this?
