Impeachment usually represents a punitive act following the commission of a crime,but some are looking to it as a last means of self-defense. At a Tea Party town hall meeting last night Rep. Michael Burgess,R-TX,said impeachment “needs to happen”to stop Barack Obama from inflicting more “damage”on this country.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram claims an attendee “suggested that the House push for impeachment proceedings against President Barack Obama to obstruct the president from pushing his agenda.”Burgess,who represents four counties in northern Texas,responded:“It needs to happen,and I agree with you it would tie things up. No question about that.”He later stood by his comment. “We need to tie things up. The longer we allow the damage to continue unchecked,the worse things are going to be for us.”
Burgess made his comments at a town hall meeting with the NE Tarrant Tea Party Tuesday evening in Denton,Texas.
The Star-Telegram adds,“Burgess said he wasn’t sure whether the proper charges to bring up articles of impeachment against Obama were there.”Since the reporter does not quote Congressman Burgess nor elaborate on this sentence,it is uncertain whether Burgess said he was not sure Obama had committed an impeachable offense or whether the charges could pass the Democrat-controlled Senate. While there are ample grounds for impeachment,it would take intense citizen pressure to force senators to vote for conviction.

Whatever the circumstances surrounding Burgess’words,he is part of a significant and growing number of Congressmen willing to see Obama removed from office….

I don't know what's taking so long for our new Congressional majority to get in gear and stop Obamacare and it's author. Obama has the Midas touch in reverse –instead of everything he touches turning to gold,it is destroyed upon contact,whether that is quadrupling the national debt or doubling the unemployment or overturning Don't Ask Don't Tell to the demoralization of our military at home and abroad to forcing socialized health care upon an electorate,nearly 3/4 of whom made it abundantly clear that we wanted our representatives to KILL THAT BILL before it could result in our untimely death. What does it take to get real change we CAN believe in? We need to see some positive change back to the right,NOW!

obama needs to be impeached and he should be sent to prison for amny of the rotten things he has done to American citizens and for squandering so much of the wealth of this great nation. I don't understand why we here rumblings of impeachment but none of our legislators seem to have the balls to stand up and get it started. I am ashamed of our so called leader….he,pelosi and reid all need to go….the sooner the better it will be for true Americans who love this land.
You can't impeach a USURPER. You instead have to escort a usurper out of the office on grounds of FRAUD,TREASON,and other various violations of the Constitution.. It's not like there isn't a mountain of evidence to these charges!! Obama is not,and NEVER HAS BEEN a "natural born citizen". His dad was a brit,so he's not legit. He's known it all this time,and has hood-winked America. Time to go! Case closed.
the problem is that NO ONE in washington is willing to bring impeachment preceedings against this bastard!(and I do mean bastard!) and until that happens we are just pissing in the wind! certainly the senate with their democrat majority would not do it. remember clinton?
