North Carolina’s Democratic Governor,Beverly Perdue,has a keen idea to help Congress focus on the economy:just cancel Congressional elections in 2012. At a rotary speech in Cary,NC,the governor stated:
I don’t know if the president or any of the candidates for president,quite frankly,of either party,have a solid tool set to help us out…We all want to be number one. I want North Carolina to be number one. You have to have more ability from Congress,I think,to work together and to get over the partisan bickering and focus on fixin’things. I think we ought to suspend,perhaps,elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them,whatever decisions they make,to just let them help this country recover. I really hope that someone can agree with me on that. The one good thing about Raleigh is that for so many years we’ve worked across party lines,so we’ll It’s not impossible to try to do what is right for the state. You want people who don’t worry about the next election.
Perdue’s camp immediately went into spin mode,claiming the governor was only joking. Her spokesman,Chris Mackey,said,“Gov. Perdue was obviously using hyperbole to highlight what we can all agree is a serious problem:Washington politicians who focus on their own election instead of what’s best for the people they serve.”Although an audio recording proves otherwise,Mackey is sticking to his story.
Indeed,the full context shows her remarks,although targeting Congressional elections,would be applicable to the presidential election,as well.
Gov. Perdue’s remarks are part of an increasingly open strategy to impose the president’s agenda through administrative channels —something bordering on dictatorial powers or open fascism….
This woman is an idiot and should be removed from office ASAP!

How in the world could the people of North Carolina vote a communist with views like this to the governorship? Maybe the ruling elitists are right. The vast majority of the general public (especially in the South) is pitifully gullible,uneducated and in too many cases downright stupid. If Obama or anyone has the audacity to try this stunt to avoid being removed from office by legal elections,there will be blood in the streets!
In 36 hours after a declared emergency (dollar collapse,middle east war- no oil or gasoline- closed malls unemployment to 50 %) to control riots and provide employment,Obama offers $15 /hr in the inner city and raises 1 to 2million man personal army. As your communications and electricity go out and troop trucks man every intersection and no one can communicate to organize …you get the point. Better think fast!

I told people several years ago when the big "O"was first elected that before the 2012 elections he would declare a national economic disaster/emergency and that in order to,"get us back on track,"he was susspending the elections by executive order until further notice for the "sake of consistancy."This is just the first shot people.

How about this:for "…people who don't worry about the next election…"TERM LIMITS!!!
Or maybe better yet,if the elected official is truly to fit the description of "public servant",set their salaries at 5% below the average for the communities they represent. For a Congressman,that would be average annual income of the households in his district,minus 5%. For a Senator,same average,but for his entire state,minus 5%. That would discourage the wealth-seekers like Harry Reid from ever running,and weed out some of the career pols whose only job skill seems to be getting re-elected. It wouldn't prevent an independently wealthy buffoon like the late Ted Kennedy from holding office,since his senatorial salary was "peanuts"compared to his personal wealth,but,it might reduce his influence if he were more of a sticking-out-like-a-sore-thumb minority.
And,for those pols who STILL turn out to be crooks,tar and feathers should be legal.
And just what might this have to do with the governor's pending re-election efforts?
Let's hark back to Hitler and the Nazis suspending elections to avoid hearing the wants of the people in wider perspective. Maybe that is where the Dem's would have us go.
