This is a treaty and needs to be passed as such by congress. First of all,congress will not pass it. Secondly,the UN has no authority here,in fact,should be eliminated as a legitimate body and told to go elsewhere. Thirdly,there are so many countries who hate our freedom and liberties that they would vote for this just to vote against America and not on the merits of such treaty. It is being presented as a way to track international traffic of guns from the point of manufacture which will be impossible to initiate and follow up. Clearly,this is an end run of America's 2nd amendment,period.

First,I am gratified the Fox people had the guts to show this. Second,the UN Treaty is a quicksand type document. Even if it was incidental to our Second Amendment right,once the treaty is in place,all updates &revisions to it become the sole responsibility &right of,the United Nations. In short,once you sign on,you get the original treaty &all changes "they"decide to make to it. Why does an American president think he can sign away our constitutional rights? If this was what our founders wanted,then why create a constitution at all since all rights would then be open to choices each president may make. The rights are ours,and they are individual as well as collective rights. They were ours 'before'this nation was founded. All we did was create a government to protect those rights,not sign them away by treaty with an anti-American cabal of international tyrants,despots,fanatical religious nuts,and the greedy seeking wealth &power.
Today at the United Nations,the Islamic Bloc is now running the UN because they have a sheer number of states (18 I think). So true democracy by the majority of numbers,or MOB rule,is shown as the fool's errand our founders knew it would be. That is why we have a constitutional republic,with elected representation.
