George Zimmerman was armed with a Kel-Tec PF-9,9 millimeter semi-automatic pistol that has a seven round capacity magazine. If George Zimmerman was out to kill Trevon Martin,he would have in all probability shot more than one round at Martin since 9 millimeter rounds,unless they hit a vital spot as they obviously did in Martin’s case,are unlikely to stop a strong and healthy young individual. It is also my understanding that Martin was a “Cage Fighter”,which explains the bruises on his knuckles that were also determined at his autopsy. According to what I was also able to assert from the internet,that autopsy report had also established that there was THC in Martin’s urine and blood.
One of the problems with our media,including Fox News,is that whenever they show a picture of Martin,it’s one when he was around 12 years old. If Fox News and all of the other media that covered and is still covering the story showed a picture of Martin as he appeared just before his death,the American people would have a better understanding of why Zimmerman might very well have feared for his own life.
Florida has a “Stand your ground”law,which states that a person may use force in self defense when there is reasonable belief of a threat without an obligation to retreat first. In some cases,a person may use deadly force in a public area without a duty to retreat. Under these legal concepts,a person is justified in using deadly force in certain situations,and the “stand your ground”law would be a defense from criminal charges and civil suit.
How is it then that after the initial police investigation,no charges were filed and then Zimmerman was arrested and charged with second degree murder? If Zimmerman was not initially thought to have been a white person (and presented as such),the media likely would never have gotten involved in this incident. However,since the initial speculation was that a white person shot and killed a black person,especially one that was portrayed as a sweet young and innocent-looking 12-year-old child,the media pulled out all the stops in reporting the event.
What occurred that evening was tragic;unfortunately,it was also unavoidable since Zimmerman was acting to protect his neighborhood that had a number of recent break-ins. Based on Zimmerman’s story,which is corroborated by eyewitnesses,Martin was onto Zimmerman just prior to Zimmerman discharging his weapon and killing Martin. I also assume that if Martin was not high on THC,he might very well have conducted himself in a completely different manner. Once again,if Zimmerman being armed with a Kel-Tec PF-9,9 millimeter semi-automatic was intent on killing Martin,he would have fired more than one shot at him.
The persecution of Zimmerman would never have occurred if both individuals were black;this is easily verified by the number of black-on-black homicides that take place every day in Chicago,Los Angeles,New York,Detroit,and most major cities all across America. On average,these cities have more than 400 homicides each. Interestingly enough,these homicides for the most part never get as much as a mention in any local news media.
Hopefully,if the charges are not dropped,if the trial goes ahead,and if Zimmerman is exonerated (which he should be),Florida will have to settle a very large,wrongful case brought against him.
