Evangelicals Plunge America Into Darkness,Stay Home On Election Day

Evangelical Church SC Evangelicals plunge America into darkness, stay home on Election Day

(Editor’s note:The following views are solely those of the author.)

The experts are wringing their hands trying to figure out why Romney didn’t win,but now we know;the 14 million missing voters from Romney’s column are Evangelicals.

Evangelical Christians may not be evil people, but they helped an evil president become an evil dictator on Tuesday. The exact numbers aren’t in;but clearly, the vast majority of Evangelicals stayed home on Election Day. They weren’t dealing with a storm or a personal family emergency. They stayed home because they made a conscious decision to allow our Marxist enemy to continue ruining our lives rather than have Mormon Mitt Romney as our president.

They draw their grounds for such a twisted thought from their interpretation of the Bible, which they take literally – except of course for the part about handling poisonous snakes;that’s where a more modern interpretation of Scripture takes hold.

The Evangelicals’ hatred of Romney burns so brightly it blinded them. Self- flagellation and a willingness to aid and abet a clear enemy became preferable to them – consequences be damned.

Evangelicals profess to be pro-life,against gay “marriage”,for religious freedom, for a strong protective bond with Israel, and for a strong and effective military. Yet on Tuesday, they stayed away by the millions and imperiled all they say they believe in.

They stood on principle,so they will say,so they hate the Republican Party for nominating Romney as well. They did not even consider the danger they put America in – Romney and the RNC hurt their feelings, and they wanted the “revenge” Barack Obama urged.

Skipping the top line for the sake of saving America never occurred to our Evangelical neighbors.  If Evangelicals had just done this,we would have a Republican Senate and a stronger hold on the House. If they had done this, much of what they care about could have been saved – but they stayed home.

They stay home to punish us all;and what’s more, they lied to pollsters.

How else could the survey reports from honest pollsters be so tortured? They acted like the 1/3 of colonists who joined the British in their attempt to keep freedom-loving Americans in chains, and they are no better.  Isn’t it the Koran that permits lying to further an adherent’s cause or a person’s cause?

How do we ever trust people who would indulge themselves so slavishly at our expense?

Wouldn’t/Shouldn’t an honest evaluation of their situation lead Evangelicals to merely cancel their voter registration? There are many groups who live among us but refuse to be part of us. They don’t register to vote. Why shouldn’t the Evangelicals do the same? That would give those of us in the patriotic 1/3 a clearer picture of what and who we are fighting.

Obviously, conservatism was not defeated Tuesday. It lost in a fixed fight that started with a sucker punch thrown by subversives who falsely proclaim allegiance to conservatism.  Nevertheless,we the patriots of America lost on Tuesday, and it makes little difference whether the telling blow was delivered from the left or the right.

The outcome was the same.

Too bad they didn't figure out we were voting for a secular position, the President of the United States,NOT a pastor of our local church!! Christians, how could you be so short-sighted and narrow minded??? While I won't be visiting Mitt Romney's church,I'd have been happy to have him as President compared to the baby-killing,family-destroying,America-hating Obama!!

Oh,you also helped toss Israel under the Obama and UN bus. Congratulations!!

I am not sure that I want to be a Republican now. I do know that the evangelicas did us all dirt. I am a Mormon, and I feel personally insulted and very discouraged as well as scared and angry. I don;t want to be assiciated with this narrow minded selfish group of people. This is one Mormon who rejects them, but I am sure that they couldn't care less about what I think or about their own country.

What am I missing here? I'm a fan of the site 99.9% of the time (was 100% until this one),but this is waaay out-there. I'm not sure what “Evangelicals”you have around you,but in my part of the world (Ohio),the "evangelicals"are the strongest base going for the Romney campaign. And you couldn't have been able to have stopped them from voting they were so anxious! Not because of excitement for Romney at all,but to rid us of B.O.! I'm certainly not Mormon,I don't believe they way they do,and it certainly didn’t mean a hill of beans for who I voted for. I wasn’t excited about it,wish it was different, but his religion got nothing more than a "that's a shame they picked him"out of anyone I know (and that's covers a couple of different religions, not just one). Due to their faith,Evangelicals are always going to be the definition of far-right conservative, farthest to the right that I can even think of (and certainly FAR right past the current Republican party),which puts them in a different GALAXY from the far-left leadership of today. All the folks that I personally know at my church were chomping at the bit and fired-up for election day,not sitting at home like you seem to suggest. That just sounds bizarre when you say it out loud,of ALL the groups to pick on you pick that one!? What color is the sky in your world? I would've certainly picked someone else to run for the Repubs, but I don't care who they put up,as long as they had a few shreds of conservative in their body, they would've been picked up by all the conservatives I know as it's moving strongly away from what we've had the last couple years. If the public would've voted as much and handily as the Evangelicals in our area,we would've won easily.
But I keep asking myself what was this article trying to accomplish? Troll for atheist comments so they can say how they hate Christians? Maybe seek out Mormons that feel they're a victim of religion? Perhaps turn our own house against ourselves? When I see an article like this it feels like a "plant"to just start a fight, like the dumbocrat troll that is always trying to start a flame war in a Republican forum, and the fight they start means THEY win by creating dissent amongst our own. Also, the lack of references here has the tone of a liberal newspaper article telling us the way the author WANTS things to be,not really the way things are,and don’t bother us with facts. Where did this wealth of information come from? Google it folks,Evangelicals supporting Romney articles are everywhere! Articles of them voting for him in mass numbers despite his Mormonism are all over! I know I voted conservative as did every Evangelical I know of at my BAPTIST church (gasp!). We even called around the night before to make sure nobody needed a ride or had an excuse not to go! Encouraging people to vote even came right from the pulpit (not endorsing a candidate, just encouraging to vote, the candidate is obvious if you’re in church). We certainly weren’t hiding away mad because we couldn’t have a Ronald Reagan again like this article seems to imply.
What lost this election is the other team pandering to the country’s handout recipients and special interest groups,as well as making promises that can’t be kept (but people will believe because it’s what they want to be true). Since the other side pretty much outnumbers us now,we need to be smarter and work together, focusing on making a team based on the facts that we all know to be true, but apparently haven’t “sold”it good enough yet to independents and the undecided. We need to collectively point out the errors and lies of liberal leadership at every opportunity, like this website USUALLY does, not writing strange articles trying to set the conservative party against what is likely their “forever members”and strong supporters!
Since I’m on the soapbox now,I think that turning on GOD (not religion-which does nothing for anybody) is the biggest part of the problems that we have today. People themselves would be changed inside if we reverse that trend. We wouldn’t even have the issues we have today if more would simply read obey God’s words. Sixty years ago,the only difference between Republicans and Democrats were actually just politics…today we’re miles from there.
First time I've really been dissappointed enough to write a comment for sure. I'll write it off to the post-election blues we all have right now,but hopefully we pick back up with sane speech soon. Here's just a few articles from actual sources that show the exact OPPOSITE of this article is true,Evangelicals are not to blame for losing;a well-oiled,well-funded lie and promise machine is!
Oh yeah, this Evangelical (and all the others I know) wishes he could've voted 3 times for Romney like they do! http://goo.gl/HO3Nb http://goo.gl/hm8oI http://goo.gl/SaFGe

      I agree with you,as a born-again Christian,and my vote went to
Dr. Laurie Roth,Independent, who never had a chance, due to
no campaigning on her part. Why .. haven't a clue, unless it comes
      down to money.

I also agree that this article is meant to divide, and the best thing
to do is mentally toss it into file 13.

I would not vote for Romeny…. you may laugh, but when a man puts
his dog in a carrier on top of his car, during a vacation trip,
he is no friend of mine nor of the canine world.
