Leftists Bash Actress For Submitting To Husband

One upsetting lesson learned through the recent controversy surrounding “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson is that biblical truths are now considered hate speech by today’s rabid leftists. While his comments surrounding homosexuality were arguably unrefined, he was roundly pilloried by secularists and gay activists who deemed his faith-based views bigoted.

The left’s intolerance of Christianity extends much further than the debate over homosexuality, though. As actress Candace Cameron Bure recently discovered, any reference to one’s Christian values can cause a conniption among the perpetually offended progressive crowd.

Best known for her portrayal of D.J. Tanner on the long-running comedy series “Full House,” Bure has joined her brother, Kirk Cameron, as an outspoken Christian role model in recent years.

She has been making the media rounds this week to promote her recent book, “Balancing It All: My Story of Juggling Priorities and Purpose.” In it, she writes about her experiences as a working mother and wife; however, leftists have focused their attention on her adherence to the biblical principle of submitting to her husband.

Though she offered a sound, logical response to those who question her position, radical feminists have implicitly labeled her Public Enemy No. 1.

“I am not a passive person,” she wrote in the book, “but I chose to fall into a more submissive role in our relationship because I wanted to do everything in my power to make my marriage and my family work.”

In a subsequent interview, she further explained her comments were based on “the biblical definition” of submission, declaring “it is meekness, it is not weakness. It is strength under control, it is bridled strength.”

Of course, this is exactly the plan God provided for marriage – which is precisely why the godless left is so incensed. Feminists have spent decades urging women to shun the prison of marriage, only to usher in a generation of unfulfilled and angry spinsters who bought into the propaganda.

Now, a well-adjusted, happy mother of three is making headlines for turning that leftist rhetoric on its head. Naturally, those trying to prop up the failed message of feminism are rushing to tear down her deeply held beliefs.

For the record, Bure confirmed she and her husband, pro hockey player Val, “are equal” in importance, noting “we are just different in our performances within our marriage.”
