This Statistic Proves What A Publicity Hound Michelle Obama Truly Is

Michelle Letterman

It seems there is nowhere on television – with the possible exception of Fox News – Michelle Obama won’t go in order to gain a little more exposure. Incredibly, she has more than 100 credits to her name, according to the Internet Movie Database, with the vast majority represented by self-congratulatory appearances on talk shows and other pieces of journalistic puffery.

The first lady recently made headlines through her interruption of the Puppy Bowl, during which she urged Americans to behave more like dogs by “getting active and lapping up plenty of water….”

While it is quite clear that she is willing to visit virtually any program that will allow her a friendly forum to discuss her leftist ideals, the true scope of her media obsession is highlighted in a comparison to her four most recent predecessors.

According to a recent Washington Post report, Michelle Obama’s most recent late-night talk show appearance is as one of Jimmy Fallon’s first guests in his new role as host of The Tonight Show. That interview represents her 14th late-night interview since her husband’s inauguration. Additionally, the soon-to-be first lady visited three such programs even before the Obama era began.

The previous four first ladies – Nancy Reagan, Barbara Bush, Hillary Clinton, and Laura Bush – appeared on such programs a total of one time, combined. Indeed, only Clinton sat down for an interview as first lady, doing so as a “Late Show with David Letterman” guest early in her husband’s first term.

Nancy Reagan was interviewed twice by Johnny Carson, though her appearances were before she moved into the White House and based on her entertainment credentials.

Two generations of Bush wives, Barbara and Laura, sat down for late-night interviews once apiece, though not during their respective husbands’ presidencies.

In total, the opportunistic first lady has compiled an incredible 17 late-night appearances as a political figure. While sitting across from David Letterman, Jon Stewart, or any other leftist host, she can rest assured that she will receive only softball questions and be afforded the opportunity to opine about whatever latest intrusive proposal she hopes to mandate.

She embraces her celebrity status to a fault, allowing entertainment personalities to fawn over her in almost any conceivable setting. Unable to defend the Obama administration’s destructive policies, these safe environments become all the more appealing.
