Shocking: Tales Of This SWAT Team Raid Might Give You Nightmares

Although the Fourth Amendment ostensibly guarantees Americans the right to security within their own homes, a Florida couple reportedly learned firsthand that federal authorities have no qualms about suspending that liberty when expedient.

According to Kari Edwards’ account, the Department of Homeland Security – aided by heavily armed SWAT Team officers – raided her home just after 6 a.m. earlier this month.

“They busted in like I was a terrorist or something,” she told Police State USA.

Edwards and her boyfriend were naturally caught off guard by the show of force, which she said included the use of flash grenades that not only startled them but resulted in great distress for the couple’s pet cat.

When the armed intruders approached Edwards, she had just gotten out of the shower and was covered in only a towel.

One officer, she said, “demanded that I drop the towel I was covering my naked body with before snatching it off me physically and throwing me to the ground.”

She confirmed she remained cuffed and nude on the floor, despite repeatedly requesting some cover. All the while, she said, officers were enforcing their demands at gunpoint.

A former DHS employee, Edwards confirmed that agents from that department were among those who forced their way into her home. Officially, however, she said none of the individuals would identify themselves or the agency they represented beyond referring to themselves as the “police.”

Furthermore, she explained, no one would tell them why they were there for more than two hours.

Despite having invested in a security system that includes surveillance equipment to capture this or any other incident at the house, Edwards said authorities identified the cameras and immediately repositioned them so they would record only the wall.

Eventually, she said, officers had ransacked their residence and provided a search warrant good for computers and electronics. According to Edwards, however, agents hardly looked at any of the computers in the home and left without taking any such evidence with them.
