Barack Obama’s many friends in the media establishment are getting increasingly desperate in light of a string of public opinion polls all showing one thing clearly – Americans do not believe his birth story.
There have been some creative attempts to put a positive spin on the fact that only 42 percent of Americans think Obama is telling the truth about his nativity – but none so creative as this one from the New York Daily News. In the annals of news people being in the tank for Obama, this up there with the tingles on Chris Matthews’ leg.
The headline on the Michael Sheridan story said it all: "Could the ‘birther’ movement be dead?"
Talk about wishful thinking!
"Could the ‘birther’ movement be fading away?" asked the lead of the story.
What could possibly lead anyone to believe such a hypothesis in light of the remarkable polls showing the "birthers" have won – despite the 100 percent, lockstep ridicule hurled at it from the media establishment?
Suspicion about the Barack Obama’s place of birth is not limited to civilians and second-rate talk show hosts anymore. Retired Major General Jerry Curry has said the president should clear up his eligibility immediately.
Maj. Gen. Curry responded to a caller during a recent episode of “The Talk to Solomon Show” that the nation’s leaders, in both parties, should tell the president: "You’re under a cloud of suspicion, and we can’t continue running this country with you in charge under this cloud. Now either you clear it up, or you resign from office."

MSNBC’s fast-talking Chris Matthews went off the deep end last week over those who question the constitutional eligibility of the one who sends thrills up his leg.
You’ve got to see it to believe it.
I don’t normally recommend anyone watch MSNBC or Matthews, but the beauty of the YouTube age is that gems like this are saved for future generations who may want to redeem the profession of journalism some day and need reminders of how far the standards of the news industry plummeted early in the 21st century.
Matthews took it very, very personally when commenting on the latest CNN poll showing only 42 percent of Americans believe Barack Obama’s birth story.

Passport documents for Stanley Ann Dunham Soetoro recently released by the State Department did not include any birth-certificate documentation for Barack Obama, despite a memorandum in the file claiming he was born in Honolulu.
The released documents indicate Dunham’s husband, Lolo Soetoro, petitioned the Immigration and Naturalization Service of the State Department in 1967 to obtain a waiver to return to the United States to rejoin his wife and her infant son, Barack Obama Jr.
A WND timeline drawn from the State Department’s July 29 Freedom of Information Act release of passport documents indicates Lolo Soetoro returned to Indonesia July 20, 1966, after completing his studies at the University of Hawaii. Soetoro was required to complete a mandatory two-year residence requirement in Indonesia before he could be granted a visa to return to the U.S.
In an apparent attempt to establish the nationality of Barack Obama Jr., a person named Mix submitted a poorly typed and difficult-to-decipher memo to the file, dated Sept. 14, 1967, without identifying any official position he or she may have held with State Department at that time.

Chris Matthews trots out all the old lines intended to protect Obama from our questions. But I have to feel satisfaction, because clearly we are getting under their skin.
1. The announcements in the newspapers are automatically generated when a parent(or grandparent) files via mail a notice of home birth in Hawaii. They prove only that someone sent in a postcard with no verification to the State of Hawaii claiming an at home birth. But Obama has been clear. He was born in a hospital. Sometimes they tell us Queens Hospital, sometimes they tell us Kapi’olani hospital, but they always say a hospital.
2. If you are born in a hospital there are records. It is called a long form birth certificate. Just release it and we go away. The form you show on camera Chris can be produced by hundreds of Hawaiians born in Japan for example. This form was routinely given to Hawaiian children born outside of the US. Hawaii didn’t even accept it a proof of native birth when Obama was elected.
3. Even if Obama is a US Citizen, it doesn’t mean he is a “Natural Born Citizen.” The US Constitution is clear, only citizens born on US territory can run for president. This is what keeps Arnold Schwarzenegger from running.
4. Finally, if he became an Indonesian citizen in the 1960’s he cannot be a US Citizen. The law doesn’t allow it. This is why his school records must be released. Did he get a scholarship as a foreign exchange student? What was his status when he traveled to Pakistan? Did he use a US passport?
The Founders considered this an important issue because they wanted to protect America from a president with dual allegiances. Only the presidency has these requirements. If Obama knew he wasn’t born here then he needs to go to prison for fraud. He needs to be impeached. He needs to end this constitutional crisis.
Chris you need to have your researchers put something better on your teleprompter if you want to rebut our arguments. The same old rehash that doesn’t answer the questions of citizenship just don’t cut it.
And calling us all racists is just getting boring.

Testimony Sought of “Custodian of Records” AND Production of all records relating to President
Decision to be made by Army Major General
Washington, D.C., July 29, 2010. The Army doctor who is facing a court martial for refusing to obey orders, including a deployment order for his second tour of duty in Afghanistan, has formally requested his Commanding General approve a deposition in Hawaii of the records-keeper of the State Department of Health—and the production of all of their records concerning Barack Obama.
The records Lakin seeks have been the subject of intense interest ever since the closing days of the 2008 presidential campaign when a document appeared on the internet purporting to be a certification that Hawaii’s Dept. of Health had records showing he had been born in Honolulu. Since then, Dr. Chiyome Fukino the head of that agency has made public statements on the subject, but has refused all requests for copies of the actual records in the Department’s custody. Recently, a former Hawaii elections clerk has come forward saying that he was told that the Department’s records showed Obama was NOT born in Hawaii.
The United States Constitution requires that a person be a “natural born citizen” to be elected to the presidency. If Mr. Obama was not born in Honolulu as he has claimed, then he is unlikely to be a “natural born citizen”. An examination of the records kept by the Hawaii Dept. of Health are an essential first step in ascertaining Mr. Obama’s constitutional eligibility to hold the office to which he was elected in 2008.
While no civil litigant has obtained discovery of these records, and all the civil lawsuits seeking those records have been dismissed on procedural grounds, Lakin’s case is different because he is the subject of criminal prosecution, and upon conviction stands in jeopardy of being sentenced to years at hard labor in the penitentiary.
Lakin’s request was submitted by his counsel to the Commanding General of the Military District of Washington, Major General Karl R. Horst, under Rule 702(b) of the Rules for Courts-Martial, which provides that “A convening authority who has the charges for disposition or, after referral, the convening authority or the military judge may order that a deposition be taken on request of a party.”
Lakin’s civilian attorney has been provided to him by the American Patriot Foundation, a non-profit group incorporated in 2003 to foster appreciation and respect for the U.S. Constitution, which has established a fund for Lakin’s legal defense. As you know, there are many unanswered questions about Barack Hussein Obama’s constitutional qualifications to act as President of the United States. Governor Brewer, or any sitting governor, for that matter, has unique standing to challenge Obama on this issue and resolve the constitutional crisis he has perpetrated on the nation by his refusal to prove that he is a “natural born Citizen” by filing a Writ of Quo Warranto.
The American people are looking to Governor Brewer to defend her state as she is doing, but also to challenge a man who has most likely assumed the office of President through dissembling and deceit, wire fraud, election fraud, and document fraud.
There is a tremendous amount of circumstantial and other evidence which points to a foreign birth for Obama, and by his own admission, he was born a dual citizen. He has also carefully described himself as “a native citizen of the United States of America” but not a “natural born Citizen.”
Article II, Section 1, paragraph 5 of the U.S. Constitution states: No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.
It is impossible for Obama to be a “natural born Citizen” if he was born with dual citizenship, and “native born” is not the same as “natural born.” Since he has never shown his original birth certificate, we also do not know his actual age.
Congress refused to check on Obama’s qualifications for office, despite thousands of requests to do so by concerned constituents before the certification of electoral votes in January 2009.
It makes no sense to mount an expensive legal defense when Governor Brewer could simply ask Obama “By what authority” his Department of Justice is suing her state and naming her as a defendant.
