Phony Documents “Bigger Than Watergate”

A retired U.S. military commander who brought a court challenge to Barack Obama’s tenure in the Oval Office says the mounting evidence indicating the “Certificate of Live Birth” he released in April is fake should shock the American public.

“If everyone was intellectually honest, they would admit those images put on the Internet are forgeries,” said CDR Charles Kerchner, whose lawsuit that alleged Congress failed in its constitutional duty to make sure the man elected president was eligible for the office, was turned down by the U.S. Supreme Court.

He cited the work released this week by longtime Adobe software book author and computer expert Mara Zebest.

“This is a 100 times worse situation in that it is not just a crime of some plumbers breaking into an opponent’s office, this is a crime against the Constitution and all the people of the Untied States. Obama is not who he says he is. These are forged documents on government property. Before it was a campaign website, now these are government websites,” Kerchner told WND today…

Others include Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely, who is working through several outreaches to restore integrity to U.S. politics; Orly Taitz, the California lawyer who has spearheaded some of the biggest legal confrontations with Obama’s supporters; Philip Berg, the Pennsylvania lawyer who first brought the issue of Obama’s apparent ineligibility to the U.S. court system; and Floyd Brown of the Western Journalism Center, who has campaigned for Obama’s impeachment…

A ‘permanent political class’

Brown, of the Western Journalism Center, who also is integral to the ImpeachObamaCampaign, told WND the simple arrogance of presenting a questionable document stretches credulity.

“The notion that their hubris would be so great as to release a fraudulent document to prove the legitimacy of a president is beyond anything we’ve seen in American history,” he said. “It’s beyond Watergate. Beyond the arrogance of power shown by Bill Clinton.

“It is an absolute scandal but what I find even more scandalous, the absolute complete lack of courage by the Republican Congress to tackle any of these issues. The American people want an investigation of his eligibility.”

He said his organization alone already has delivered petitions from 2.5 million people to Congress demanding impeachment proceedings.

But he said members of Congress “totally and completely are ignoring the calls to action.”

That response, he said, is evidence of a “permanent political class [in Washington] committed to bigger, stronger, more invasive government. It includes the leadership inside the Republican Party.”

The solution, he said, is “wholesale change.”

Memorial Day is a time for reflection about the sacrifices of the many men and women who gave it all so that we could enjoy the blessings of Liberty. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, this time of year we yearned for long, sunny summer days and the end of the rainy season.

Traditionally we visit the graves of beloved family who have gone on before, but this year we celebrated in an entirely different way. This Memorial Day weekend, our 23-year-old son married his college sweetheart, so we as parents are in a mood of reflection.

First, at our age we finally understand the passage of time and the cycle of birth and death which is an amazing part of God’s plan for humanity.

Watching any wedding takes us back to the day of our own marriage….

Huckabee Website Asks for Prayers, Not Donations

Usually, potential presidential aspirants seek cash before waging a campaign. Mike Huckabee wants your prayers.

To that end, a new website has been launched seeking divine inspiration for the former Arkansas governor, called www.prayforhuckabee.com.

“As many of you know, I am prayerfully considering an important decision about seeking the office of president in the 2012 election. I am asking for God’s guidance now, and I humbly ask that you would join me in prayer as I seek to discern His will for my life,” Huckabee writes on the page. “Together, let’s pray for God’s mercy on America. Pray that He will heal our land. Pray that I will hear the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit as He leads my steps according to His will”…

Hogan Gidley, executive director of Huckabee’s Huck PAC political committee, said in an e-mail that the site “is not one of Governor Huckabee’s official websites nor does it have anything to do with Huck PAC. However, the Governor is overwhelmed and encouraged by the many people who pray for him as he prepares to make a decision about running for president.”

The page was linked to, however, by Huckabee’s official Facebook page.

The domain was registered by Floyd Brown, an author and political consultant who has recently written favorably of Huckabee. Gidley did not immediately respond to further questions, and Brown could not be immediately reached.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is asking his supporters to join him in prayer as he seeks God’s guidance on whether to run for president.

PrayForHuckabee.com — a new website that Huckabee promoted on Wednesday through his official Facebook page — features a personal message from the 2008 Iowa caucuses winner as he mulls another White House bid.

“As many of you know, I am prayerfully considering an important decision about seeking the office of President in the 2012 election,” Huckabee writes on the site. “I am asking for God’s guidance now, and I humbly ask that you would join me in prayer as I seek to discern His will for my life.”

According to a spokesperson for the former Republican governor, PrayForHuckabee.com is not directly related to Huckabee’s political operation, but the remarks attributed to Huckabee on it are genuine.

“The Governor so greatly appreciated the sentiment that he decided to pen a personal statement of thanks to those administering the site and those who would take the time to pray for him,” HuckPAC spokesperson Hogan Gidley said in a statement to RCP.

Defining Conservatism: Major Pullouts Rock CPAC

Two more big guns of the conservative movement confirmed today they are not participating in the Conservative Political Action Conference next month because of the continued participation of the homosexual activist organization GOProud.

The Heritage Foundation, the largest think tank in Washington and not known as part of the religious right, confirmed that it is not taking part in what has been the largest annual gathering of conservatives in the country. Heritage has been an active participant in CPAC every year for the last 10.

“We have withdrawn,” said Mike Gonzalez, vice president of communications for the Heritage Foundation. “We have been there for many, many years at the highest level of participation.

“We believe in the traditional definition of the family,” Gonzalez explained. “We believe in defending the family against any threats that come against it. We’re not for gay marriage. We don’t think institutions that have existed for millennia can be done away with at the drop of a hat.”

Gonzalez emphasized that the “three pillars” of conservatism, economic liberty, national defense and social conservatism, are “indivisible.”

In addition, the Media Research Center, led by Brent Bozell, a longtime associate of the hosting organization, the American Conservative Union, announced it was dropping out.

“We’ve been there 25 years, since our inception,” said Bozell. “To bring in a ‘gay’ group is a direct attack on social conservatives, and I can’t participate in that.”

A member of the CPAC board of directors put the revolt in perspective.

“This is a huge blow to CPAC,” said Floyd Brown, president of the Western Journalism Center and founder of Citizens United. “It shows the CPAC leadership needs to do a full evaluation of their decision to allow this homosexual group to be a participating organization.”

As we end 2010 and begin a new year, the media take a look back at the year gone by. We too wish to look back at all the stories this website has broken in the few months of our existence. Some have been ignored, others have been reported nationally — without credit to those of us who discovered them. Nonetheless, we are happy the information has spread and look forward to leading the charge in 2011. We want to take this time to celebrate all we have accomplished in so little time by highlighting a baker’s dozen of stories that we broke. Counting down our stories, from least to greatest.

13. Obama Apologizes to Guatemala for a Guatemalan Government Experiment (story). On October 1, Barack Obama phoned Guatemalan President Alvaro Colom with a heavy heart. He learned that from 1946-48, the U.S. Public Health Service had tested the effectiveness of penicillin in treating syphilis by infecting Guatemalan prisoners and soldiers with the disease, then treating them. Guatemalan politicians howled for “compensation,” and Obama promised “a thorough investigation.” The experiments — discovered by Susan Reverby of Wellesley College and revealed in the January issue of the Journal of Policy History — were inhumane. However, Reverby noted one fact Obama overlooked: The Guatemalan government approved of the experiments at the time. The story shows Obama’s focus on what he describes as America’s “tragic history” and absurd reflex to apologize for American behavior. In this case, the courageous leader of the free world apologized to the president of a third world backwater for experiments both their governments approved and conducted before either one of them was alive.

12. Oklahoma’s Muslim Law Ban Struck Down by Clinton Diversity Pick (story). On election day 2010, more than 70 percent of Oklahoma voters approved State Question 755, which forbids state courts from considering Islamic religious law, Shari’a, in pending court cases. However, federal judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange of the 10th Circuit Court issued a series of injunctions against the measure. In her tangled view, a law prohibiting judges from deciding cases based on religious law constituted an attack on the First Amendment. As we alone exposed, Miles-LaGrange, whom Bill Clinton appointed in 1994 as “first African-American federal judge in the six states that make up the 10th Circuit,” is a thoroughgoing mediocrity who has spent her entire career benefiting from or promoting Affirmative Action. She now sees Muslims as the next victims of an oppressive Christian America. Remember this the next time someone calls Bill Clinton a “moderate.”

11. Left-Winger Confirms Obama’s “Covert Propaganda” Scandal (story). In August, Rep. Darrell Issa’s House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform issued a 36-page report accusing Barack Obama of engaging in “covert propaganda” activities that were “inappropriate and sometimes unlawful.” The White House, Issa wrote, would enlist third parties to promote its talking points without mentioning its connection to Obama, a move he alleges is illegal (and thus impeachable). Within days, far-Left activist Sally Kohn confirmed another facet of this story on The Huffington Post. I reported the administration invited Kohn to a May 2009 “cultural policy summit” with five dozen other radical activists and extremists. Kohn wrote this was the beginning of the Obama administration’s weekly “Common Purpose” meetings, where “the White House dictated its agenda and appealed to the professional left for back-up.” Kohn, a onetime Ford Foundation employee, is a self-described “Jewish lesbian” who once wrote a DailyKos diary entry entitled, “Why I Have a Little Crush on Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.” Her allegations that the president used them in a covert propaganda campaign are worthy of inclusion in an investigation of this scandal. To date, no one else has noticed them.

Obama's Fixes Keep Financial Crisis Going

On July 2, President Obama declared, “And finally, because of this law, the American people will never again be asked to foot the bill for Wall Street’s mistakes. (Applause.) There will be no more tax-funded bailouts — period. (Applause.) If a large financial institution should ever fail, this reform gives us the ability to wind it down without endangering the broader economy. “

The occasion of his bold statement was the signing of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act.

So imagine our surprise when less than two weeks later Fannie Mae requested $1.5 billion more from the U.S. Treasury. This request came after the 12th quarterly loss by Fannie, and with this money Fannie’s take from the taxpayers’ wallet will grow to a whopping $86.1 billion for one company. Together with its twin Freddie Mac the bailout package is over $200 billion.

Fannie Mae, aka the Federal National Mortgage Association, was created in 1938 as a government sponsored enterprise (GSE) to bolster the housing market by increasing Americans’ access to cheap home loans during the last Great Depression. Freddie Mac, aka the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp., was created in 1970 to end Fannie’s monopoly in the secondary mortgage market. Both are mandated by Congress to help increase home ownership.

The problem we have with this housing mandate is that not all Americans deserve, nor are they responsible enough, to go deep into debt to purchase a home.

Everyone understands that mortgage debt stands at the center of the ongoing financial crisis. Responsible analysis concludes that too much credit was extended to too many un-creditworthy buyers of homes. At the center of this debacle stand these government-sponsored private financial firms named Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. Neither of these firms were “reformed” by the so-called Reform Act.

Fannie has long been a favorite tool of America’s political left. A revolving door has allowed politically connected White House and Congressional aides to spend time at Fannie becoming fabulously wealthy.

The examples of this revolving door are many, but the most famous and wealthiest is Obama campaign adviser Franklin Raines. Raines served on both the Carter and Clinton White House staffs before becoming Chairman and CEO of Fannie Mae. In the Fannie job this former bureaucrat earned over $100 million.

Raines was eventually pushed out of Fannie in an accounting scandal. He was accused by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO), the regulator of Fannie Mae, of manipulating the firm’s accounting so that he and other senior executives could pocket ever-larger bonuses.

While at Fannie, Raines began a program in 1999 to encourage bank loans to individuals with low incomes. He also downgraded credit requirements on loans that Fannie Mae purchased from banks. Raines claimed the program would allow borrowers who were “a notch below what our current underwriting has required” to get home loans. The move was praise by liberals because they believed it would increase the number of minority and low-income home owners. We now know the program is central to the ongoing mortgage defaults still unfolding at Fannie.

So the foreclosure crisis limps on with no end in sight.

To understand Obama’s failure at financial reform, you only have to analyze his rhetoric. At the same July 21 ceremony he boldly proclaimed about the bill, “It demands accountability and responsibility from everyone.” Problem is, on its face this statement is a bold faced lie. Fannie and Freddie have been neither fixed nor reformed and both are bleeding the taxpayers daily.
